Stardust Casino Las Vegas Sign

This is it! The sign that put “atomic” in the Atomic City and the most spectacular of the Vegas “spectaculars”! Now you can own your own mini version of perhaps the most iconic of the atomic-era and space-age Vegas signs. The sign stands 19-1/2 inches (493 mm) tall, is double-sided, and is 3D printed in sustainable, durable, PLA polymer. Many of the 266 stars are hand-painted. Stardust Sign Creation

The original Stardust casino sign, mounted on the façade of the building, was designed by YESCO’s Kermit Wayne, and in 1958, became the largest electric sign ever constructed – said to be visible from up to three miles away! This was surpassed in 1965 by the 188 foot tall sign by Paul Miller of AD-ART (intriguingly rendered in the shape of a mushroom cloud perhaps due to the nearby atomic test site), depicted in this recreation. The design of the sign was so iconic, it was the basis for it’s own typeface now known as the “Atomic” font. In 1991, a new sign face featured a new “sans-serif” font with different colors to appeal to a new generation of Vegas venturers. We can recreate whichever version you want, please let us know.

Our owner, a former full-size commercial sign designer, recreated “The Stardust” by studying the photos and specifications of the original signage, visiting the Neon Museum in Vegas, and then meticulously recreating the sign by hand over 50 hours to scaled dimensions in Autodesk 3D modeling software. Each sign demonstrates attention to detail and requires over 60 hours of printing time with 8 different colors and over 20 hours of hand-painting, hand-wiring and assembly. Proudly designed and made in the USA from USA sourced materials. We know any fan of the Stardust or vintage Vegas will be thrilled with the result!

Stardust Sign Customized Option

The “original” version of this sign says “Lido” and “Prime Rib Dinner – $2.95” on the marquee. For a super-special gift, however, the it can be personalized with the lettering of your choice for that special, one-of-a-kind touch! Select one of the “Personalized” Options to purchase.

Stardust Sign Lighting Options

We are also proud to offer an internally lit LED option complete with 120 volt AC – 12 volt DC wall adapter with a convenient inline on/off switch. The 42 super-bright LEDs are very low power, give off almost no heat, and light the main panel and marquee. Makes a very attractive and striking conversation piece! Select either the “Original Lit” or “Personalized Lit” option to purchase.

Battery Powered Option

We also have a “AA” alkaline battery-powered, internally-lit version. This requires 8 “AA” size alkaline batteries (not included due to shipping regulations) to power the LEDs. Perfect for a dinner table or party situation where power cords would be a nuisance. Battery life varies but you can expect 10 – 12 hours of lighting. Select “Personalized Battery”. This option will include customization and custom color sign faces if you wish.
